The POWER Foundation: Papa Onye Eze Women Empowerment and Relief Foundation successfully held its latest adult empowerment program on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Obinwanne Civic Center, with 39 participants (19 men and 20 women).

The foundation, established in 2022 in memory of Prof. J.O.L. Ezeala, is dedicated to medical outreach, adult education, skills acquisition, and community development. This program, now in its third/fourth batch, has significantly contributed to making Obinwanne an enlightened and industrious community.

The event, chaired by Chief Barr. Jude Ezeala (Ebube Agu ndi Igbo), featured various activities, including a welcome song, presentations on speeches and current affairs by participants, and the presentation of certificates by the traditional ruler of Obinwanne, H.R.M. Eze Justin U. Ezeala, Ezenwanne of Obinwanne.

In his speech, H.R.M. Eze Justin U. Ezeala highlighted the foundation’s commitment to empowering individuals who previously lacked educational opportunities. He also stressed the contributions of Lady Margaret Ezeala (Mama Onye Eze) in supporting the foundation’s mission. He reiterated that the foundation extends beyond education, engaging in medical outreach, maternal healthcare, skills training, school construction, tree planting for environmental sustainability, and other community development initiatives.
Chief Barr. Jude Ezeala, while commending the participants for embracing the opportunity, emphasized that education is power and a key driver of national development. He noted that the program has successfully brought education to the doorsteps of those who previously lacked access.
The event also served as an occasion to appreciate the efforts of Mrs. Immaculate Uche and her team, whose dedication has helped sustain the program. Participants expressed gratitude, describing the initiative as life-changing and transformative for their personal and community growth.
